Episcopal Homes Foundation’s mission is to develop and connect resources of time, talent, and treasure to strengthen and sustain a vibrant, thriving Episcopal Homes community. By attracting and distributing resources, the Foundation helps bring Episcopal Homes’ mission of enriching life and building community with older adults to life.
The Foundation was established in 1982 to support Episcopal Homes’ growth over three decades. Foundation capital campaigns helped build Becketwood Senior Cooperative, four affordable housing communities serving more than 200 low income seniors, and a campus expansion culminating in 2015 that doubled Episcopal Homes’ resident community.
Today, the Foundation continues to engage friends to meet the needs of the community. Volunteers and donors support mind, body, spirit programs for elders; scholarship and emergency assistance programs for staff; and home care services to help older adults age well and live well in their homes.
Vision
Older adults of all incomes, abilities, and backgrounds are valued members of the community; live a life of meaning and purpose; and have access to the resources needed to age well and live well. The Foundation carries out its vision by supporting equitable access to:
- Safe, affordable homes
- A continuum of care from individual homes to nursing homes
- Services that facilitate independence, connection and engagement
- Programming to optimize wellbeing in body, mind and spirit
- Compassionate caregivers who are supported as community members
